A slightly confusing title perhaps - not mentioned in the lyric - but no this is not a song about psychos getting their kicks by behaving badly! Peter came to me with the melody stating that he wanted a really happy song. Being more comfortable with a slightly melancholic approach I found this to be something of a challenge! Easier to write about things that make you miserable or angry than happy?? In fact my first attempt fell well short, because although it was about people being happy outside in the sunshine, it was told from the point of view of someone watching from their office window. and therefore still contained some of that melancholic streak. So I removed all such references and just left the happy bits. My initial glib response to the result - 'Gee you'd have to be psycho to be that happy' led to a working title which somehow stuck.. Adrian.

The song title conjures up visions of intoxicating laughter & happiness.  PlanB’s latest offering from the band’s song writing partnership of Sneaky Pete and Adrian Miller, is an infectious pop  song which exudes good summer feelings and enjoying life. Psycho Happy is the first release from the band’s second album and displays a giant musical step forward with renewed confidence from all players and a new front-man for the band, David Robinson, who brings a depth of experience to the team.

The video was shot primarily at Brighton Beach Adelaide Australia on a remarkably un-sunny day. The ensemble cast includes David Robinson in his debut music video, the lovely Jen Lush (as the wife), Ethan Schembri (the son) and gorgeous Aurora Lumsden (brunette) and Terah Cathro (blonde).
