“Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the festival stages as much as anyone, but playing gigs where the audience are almost treading on my toes and I’m in my element,” says Williams after playing at 'Oscar’s on the Corner' Bar in downtown Phnom Penh.
Robbie has been playing regularly around Adelaide in various bands over recent years, relishing the opportunity to play different interpretations of blues and soul music, however hopping on a plane with PlanB and heading off to destinations abroad is what keeps the musical fire in his belly.
A core member of PlanB’s “Horn Dingoes” since the mid 80s, Robbie Williams finds the collaboration with some of Australia’s finest horn players the ideal platform to develop the unique fat horn lines that go to enhance the PlanB sound. He adds that “all of PlanB’s horn lines are orchestrated and we are constantly looking to enhance our sound via a groovy line or sweet harmony. Being part of the construction of a new original tune is immensely satisfying”.
